What is the difference between the 4-point and 5-point harness?

The 4-point harness uses two shoulder straps and two lap straps. Our 5-Point Harness adds a fifth anti-submarine strap between the legs, which prevents you from sliding forward under the lap belt. The 4-point is the more affordable option and works well for static rigs and most motion setups; the 5-point is the more authentic choice for high-motion platforms and endurance sessions.

Will the 4-Point Harness fit my seat and cockpit?

It's compatible with most sim racing cockpits and racing seats, including our Apevie X1 Carbon Fiber, X1-R, and AS-M3 seats and our RTR V2 and SP cockpits. Your seat needs shoulder-strap pass-through openings and side mounting points — standard on bucket-style sim racing seats.

What hardware is included for installation?

Four quick-release attachments are included. They connect to your cockpit's harness bar or the seat's mounting points, so no additional hardware is usually needed for an Apevie cockpit.

Is this harness certified for use in a real vehicle?

No. This harness is built for racing simulators only. It is not FIA or SFI certified and must never be used as a safety restraint in a road car, race car, or any moving vehicle.

Does it work with a motion simulator?

Yes. Keeping your body planted in the seat is what lets you read a motion platform's movement as vehicle behavior. The 4-Point Harness is included in several Apevie turnkey packages for this reason.

Is it comfortable for long races?

Yes. The 3-inch strap width spreads pressure across a wider area than narrow belts, and the thick shoulder padding reduces fatigue during endurance sessions. The adjustable buckle system makes it quick to loosen or tighten mid-session.
